The monastery in Burgos was beautiful and carried a lot of historical significance. What I found most interesting about this monastery in particular was the amount of Islamic influence in the architecture. I wish we were able to take pictures inside so that I could have something to look back on but my memory will have to do. Pointed archways evident in Islamic architecture were spread throughout the interior along with colorfully faded geometric patterns spotted along the damaged ceiling. It was odd yet intriguing to see Castilian lions and portrayals of their castles next to Islamic inspired patterns.
