Today we left Burgos to travel to the city of León. Although we were sad to leave, we were also excited to move on to our next destination. We had a long train ride (which I slept through most of), yet the countryside was gorgeous and it was so interesting to look at the different farms and towns along the way.
The city of León was interesting and beautiful — not as big as Burgos but there were still many important things to see. There were old Roman walls and a stunning cathedral in the center of town. I even came across some political graffiti that said, “Castilians Go Home!” I found out that León was a separate kingdom long ago and got absorbed into the providence of Castile, but now many people in Leon want to be a separate providence.
